值你即将访问美国之际，我们身在旧金山的中国民主人士，郑重向你以及中共当局提出我们的五项民主诉求。
一、结束一党专政！
中国人民应当有权利拥有和决定国家政治制度以及国家领导人的权利，结束中国共产党一党长期垄断国家权力的局面。
二、实行宪政民主！
顺应世界民主潮流，建立以民主宪政为基础的政治制度，实行自由选举、权力制衡、司法独立和军队国家化的现代民主制度，切实保障人民的言论、新闻、出版、信仰和结社自由。
三、释放政治囚犯！
立即释放全部因和平表达政治观点、追求民主自由、维护人权而遭受关押和迫害的政治犯与良心犯。
四、停止跨国镇压！
停止对海外中国民主人士、异议人士及其家属进行威胁、骚扰、监控和打压，尊重海外华人的基本权利与人身安全。
五、停止极权扩张！
停止将政治压制和威权理念向境外扩张，尊重国际社会的自由、民主、人权、法治的普世制度、民主理念和价值。
我们相信，一个国家是否得到国际社会的认可与尊重，不在于国家权力的集中，而在于人民是否拥有自由选择自己未来的权利。我们呼吁中共当局顺应时代潮流，以和平、理性的方式倾听和回应人民诉求。

An Open Letter to Xi Jinping, Leader of the Chinese Communist Party
Dear Mr. Xi Jinping,
As you are about to visit the United States, we, representing Chinese pro-democracy activists based in San Francisco, solemnly present to you and the authorities of the Chinese Communist Party our five democratic demands:
1. End One-Party Rule!
The Chinese people should have the right to determine their country’s political system and choose their national leaders. The long-standing monopoly of political power by the Chinese Communist Party must come to an end.
2. Establish Constitutional Democracy!
China should follow the global trend toward democracy and establish a political system based on constitutional democracy, including free elections, checks and balances, judicial independence, and the nationalization of the military. The fundamental freedoms of speech, the press, publication, religion, and association must be fully protected.
3. Release Political Prisoners!
Immediately release all political prisoners and prisoners of conscience who have been detained or persecuted for peacefully expressing their political views, pursuing democracy and freedom, or defending human rights.
4. Stop Transnational Repression!
Stop threatening, harassing, monitoring, and suppressing Chinese pro-democracy activists, dissidents, and their family members overseas. Respect the fundamental rights and personal safety of overseas Chinese.
5. Stop the Expansion of Authoritarianism!
Stop extending political repression and authoritarian practices beyond China’s borders. Respect the universal principles and values of freedom, democracy, human rights, and the rule of law upheld by the international community.
We believe that a country’s recognition and respect in the international community should not be measured by the concentration of state power, but by whether its people have the freedom to choose their own future.
We call upon the Chinese Communist Party authorities to respond to the demands of the Chinese people in a peaceful and rational manner and to listen to the voices of the people in accordance with the demands of our times.
