Recently a Facebook fan somehow gave me a white envelope, with one sentence on it: “Happy 2018!” Upon opening this envelope, I found $2018 in cash.

最近一名脸书朋友给了我一个白色信封，上面写着「2018年快乐！」我打开信封，里面赫然是$2018现金！

I thought for two days about how I could return the money to him, but couldn”t figure out a way. He only said to me, “You do big things, I do small things.”

我有点「吓坏」了。俗话说，「无功不受禄」，我这莫名其妙拿人家$2018算什么？

我琢磨了整两天，也没琢磨出能把钱还给他的办法。

Finally, I decided to donate the money to Shen Yun, on his behalf, and he agreed.

最后我终于决定：替他捐给神韵吧。告诉他，他同意了，并跟说：「这不算什么。你们做的是大事，我只做一点点小事。」

And after donating his $2018, I donated $2018 more for myself to “match” his contribution, like some big organizations would do, although I am not a “big boss”.

替他捐了$2018以后，我又「跟」了$2018，算我自己的。以前经常在收音机里听到号召捐款的广告，经常带一句：你捐多少，我们就跟多少……我虽然不是那些做慈善的机构，也勉强「冒充」一把，以回报他的心意。

Although in the beginning, I felt very uneasy and even embarrassed to be given so much money by someone I hardly knew, I later felt heartened. It shows that my “truth-clarification” efforts on the Facebook have not gone unnoticed. At least this one person is willing to show his support in such a big way.

捐完钱后，我心中慢慢释然，同时开始感到有点欣慰。自上脸书以来，虽然天天勤奋发贴，但到底有多少人看，起了多少作用，其实并不清楚。

但这$2018的「真金白银」（生平第一次收到这么「大」的礼物），让我了解到，原来自己做的事情还是有点作用啊。
