来源:希望之声 （记者吴永健综合报导）「清道夫」，在这里不是指清洁工人，也不是那个常用扫把脚、清除敌方的进攻来球的足球后卫，更不是那会吃青苔、常被人饲养作为清洁鱼缸的棘甲鲶科的鱼。
不久前，美国密歇根州一只“明星狗狗”派珀（Piper ），火遍国内外社交媒体，它负责机场的驱鸟工作，戴上护目镜的打扮也让网友直呼“帅炸了”。
现在，派珀已经俘获了世界各地的爱狗人士的心，网友们都为这只勇敢负责的小狗感动点赞。
从2014年底开始，美国特拉弗斯城的樱桃首都机场工作人员，将派珀带上了新的K-9号机组，专门寻找和追逐有时在机场聚集的鸟类。牠每周工作4天，每次工作8小时。
不管是什么样的飞行动物，一旦与飞机相撞，其力度犹如子弹，会让机身受损。假如鸟类卷入引擎，更可能引发空难，因此「驱鸟犬」的任务就相当重要啦！派珀直属机场K9部队，当牠执勤时，需要穿着完整的K9制服、佩戴滑雪护目镜，以及防噪音的耳罩。种种完整的装备，是为了避免派珀在认真工作之余造成职业伤害。
遥望蓝天，驱赶周边的飞鸟。无论如何，作为一名真正的「清道夫」，派珀与联合部队合作愉快，除此之外，也积极影响许多人的关注和称赞。牠的自豪感，以及流露出的自信，极具感染力。

派珀是很敬业，而且毫无怨言的。
虽然牠的左脚骨折，有一段时间无法正常工作，但是，在工作人员细心照料下，派珀顺利恢复，重新站上工作岗位。
正如在视频中看到的那样，多年来，美国海岸警卫队空中站的同仁们，很幸运地有牠陪伴……
A bittersweet #warriorwednesday today.You see, on this day two years ago, Piper went viral. Like full on viral. Someone posted this short clip of Pipe doing his thing to Reddit and the rest is history.Were we prepared for the utter onslaught of attention, most of which was positive? Absolutely not. The messages. The comments. The emails. The interviews. I don't think we slept much for a few weeks. We both learned a lot in those few weeks, but most of all that managing social media — and all the things that come with that — is work. A lot of work.Did our social media exist with the sole purpose of going viral? Absolutely not. So here we were, not intending to go viral and suddenly putting much more time into it than we had. We certainly didn't have to, but I tell you, when you're as passionate about something as we were and how proud I am of him, it's a labor of love. Are there haters? Hey, it's the internet, that goes without saying… but for everyone of those, there are a million other positive and supportive internet folk that became friends. All because of a dog and his passion for life. Was it worth it? Oh heck yes! There was no way we were going to let this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity go by the wayside. So while sometimes, admittedly, it did feel like work because of our real life struggles here and there, it truly was our pleasure to put the time in to have you all get to know Piper for the unique pup he was. Just like with anything, you get out what you put in. We put in as much as we could, but I can tell you for certain, we got way more out of it. If you're still following after Piper has passed and actually reading this post to the end, you're exactly about what I'm talking. No question, totes worth it.Again, none of this would be possible without the men and women of U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City, as you can see in the video. They're back! At long last, Pipe's arch nemesis is back for the winter… temporarily that is.Meet the snowy owl. The largest (by weight) North American owl shows up every winter to hunt at the airport, since it resembles the open tundra of the Arctic. Though beautiful, these ground nesters pose a serious threat to aviation due to their size and how much they're used to the airport environment. Most of the time, you'll see Pipe chasing them away from our signboxes or snowbanks on the airfield, but occasionally we'll chase them off of cars!Beautiful, yes, but these two have a sordid past.
